Butterfly Project Featured in the Catholic Witness

In remembrance of the horrors that the children of Terezin, a concentration camp near Prague in World War II, faced, the US Holocaust Museum published a book of poems and drawings, crafted by the children of Terezin. One such poem entitled, The Butterfly, inspired Mrs. Grenchik and her students to learn about the children of Terezin, write their own poems, create their own artwork, and watch caterpillars mature into butterflies. On Easter Sunday, the students released the butterflies into the Gettysburg area, praying they flourish and become symbols of peace.
