Preschool at St. Francis Xavier
“A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person.
And a good Catholic school, over and above this, should help all its students to become saints.”
— Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

Preschool Diocesan Curriculum Standards
In addition to the specific content taught in St. Francis Xavier’s preschool class, the curriculum from the Diocese of Harrisburg gives a more extended look at what is covered in the classroom. Students in preschool participate in weekly gym class, spanish, art, music, and computer time.
Students in our Pre-Kindergarten program learn how to recognize and identify the letters of the alphabet, numbers 0-20, and shapes. They practice writing their names, and continue to develop fine motor skills by coloring and cutting with scissors. They practice rhyming and patterns and learn to recognize them. Social learning is critical in preschool, so students have lots of time to play. Our preschool begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:10 pm with before and after care options available.
New this year - we now offer a FULL YEAR Preschool option for families who need childcare during the summer.
